Alex Barrett, MScPT, is a passionate and dedicated physical therapist who has been practicing since 2015.

Alex completed his Bachelor’s in Kinesiology with honours at Memorial University where he also played varsity Volleyball for the Sea-Hawks. He then earned his Master’s in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University.

Alex’s treatment philosophy centers on finding ways to make people intrinsically motivated. He believes in shared accountability, goal setting, and a partnership between himself and his patients. What sets Alex apart is his genuine, fun, and personable approach to client interaction. He’s known for making therapy both enjoyable and productive, offering individualized care tailored to each client’s specific needs through actively listening and engaging with the patient.

Alex has received specialized training in a variety of fields from chronic pain management (APTEI/ Mike Sangster), to running injuries (The Running Clinic) ,to Sports Medicine (Harvard Sports Medicine), Manual therapy (Scott Gallant/ SMART Seminars), Dry Needling (SMART Seminars), Acupunture, Movement rehabilitation. Optimization (FRC - Functional Anatomy Seminars) and more.

His dedication to his profession has been recognized, having been voted the Best Physiotherapist in Halifax by The Star Halifax in 2019.

Alex’s involvement in the community is extensive. He has acted as a physiotherapist in the North America Indigenous Games (NAIG), Winnipeg Jets AHL affiliate, as well as Varsity sports teams (MUN/ DAL). He has given injury prevention presentations to the Nova Scotia Provincial Volleyball team and various running groups within the community. He has also recently been involved heavily in the Volleyball coaching community.

In his free time, Alex enjoys spending time with his partner, Taylor, and their dog, Rosie. He is an avid sports player, nature enthusiast, and loves cooking, playing board games, attending concerts, and socializing with friends and family.

Olivia, originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, ventured to Windsor, Ontario, where she earned her Bachelor of Human Kinetics. During her studies, she demonstrated her sporting excellence as a high jumper on the Lancer track and field team. Fueled by her passion for sports and movement, Olivia returned to the East Coast and obtained her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 2020. Excited to make a positive impact, Olivia looks forward to serving the community of Sackville, striving to assist patients in discovering meaningful and effective approaches to reach their unique goals. Dedicated to ongoing professional development, Olivia has expanded her expertise through post-graduate courses and is now certified in Biomedical Dry Needling.

Outside the clinic, Olivia leads an active lifestyle, participating in curling and dancing. When not engaged in physical activities, she enjoys the creative pursuits of cross-stitching and cruising on her motorcycle.
